Bookprints .. Feb 2017 πŸ‘£

1. Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse

The entire book, I kid you not. A book everyone must read at some stage in their life.  The best thing I’ve realised is – forgiving yourself and treating yourself kindly. You are, after all, growing up.

Also, did you know ‘om’ meant perfection?

Lines, favourite, specifically:

You are Kamala and no one else, and within you there is a stillness and sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself, just as I can.

You cannot love either, otherwise how could you practice love as an art? Perhaps people like us cannot love. Ordinary people can – that is their secret.

2. Lean in by Sheryl Sandberg

Fav lines :
The entire book, actually. But well, here goes.

Some of the most important contributions to our world are made by caring for one person at a time.

A lack of confidence can become a self fulfilling prophecy.

A man has to be Joe McCarthy in order to be called ruthless. All a woman needs to do is put you on hold…Marlo Thomas

..desire to be liked by everyone would hold me back. He said that when you want to change things, you can’t please everyone. If you do please everyone, you aren’t making enough progress.

Tikkum olam … repairing the world

Alice walker … the most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.
