Solidarity, of solitude!

In the name of collective thought,
in the name of solidarity, and unity,
how many times did we forget solitude?
And individualism?
I agree there’d always be preachers and listeners,
leaders and followers,
and it does a pile of good, sometimes.
But maybe, just maybe,
not so many wars would have been fought,
not so many petty battles happened;
Perhaps we wouldn’t be neck deep
in black corruption
and illogical politics.
Perhaps we’d bother to stop,
check ourselves, look around;
it’s there everywhere, everyday,
the signs and the patterns,
yet we forget to see,
so lost are we
in the name of collective thought,
lost we shall be.
